Return my heart when I am dead.

He awakened, that time, to heat and darkness first – the pain came later, weighing down every limb, filling every nerve, driving deep into every bone. The real reason why he could not move, however, became obvious the moment he tested his wrists. Shackled together and stretched out far above his head, pulling his arms just a step too far from where they should have been able to go. There was the scratch of ropes against his skin as well, binding his thighs to his legs – straining his neck up to look confirmed it, but the effort left him dizzy and sick.

“You should lie back and rest, like a good boy.”

The sound of that voice ran like a current through him. Before he could turn to find the source, however, the speaker himself loomed into view, hovering over him with that same, angelic smile.

It became difficult to breathe, in that place.

“Poor thing,” Kawakami Bansai said, low and sympathetic. He was moving again, sitting at the edge of the bed. “They tried to crush your windpipe, you know. They almost succeeded.” Long, tapered fingers against his neck. “You won’t be able to speak for a while. Pity: I love the little spats we get into.”

The man’s other hand had moved to his forehead, heavy and cold. He hadn’t realized that he was struggling until he felt Bansai’s fingers leave his throat in favor of running down the length of his exposed thigh.

“Shh.” Back and forth, from the inside to the knee, then back again. “I’m doing this for your own good. You’ve always been stubborn about your injuries, see.” Shifting, from resting on his forehead to covering his eyes. “Now you can recover properly.” Between his legs, sending a jolt of warmth down his spine, mixing with the agony of everything else. “I can help with that.” Whispered words over his just over his panting, trembling lips. “You know I can make you feel good.”

And after Hibari Kyouya wakes up, after he’s opened his eyes and finds himself back in the present, he lifts his wrists, sees the ghost of rope burns and cuts and burns, and remembers, with a sudden sharp pang of something almost like fear and almost like regret, what it was like, lying still beneath those hands.

Lol, I'm glad you think so! The dynamic was fun to play out in its original game.
